Kaczyński Defiant as Government Hardens Stance: “They Won’t Scare Us”

“Poles should begin to talk about the past in order to forge a new vision for the future, because in many respects Poland must change,” said Jarosław Kaczyński, chairman of Law and Justice (PiS), in Opole. He also praised the endurance of Karol Nawrocki.

Jarosław Kaczyński visited Opole today, where he met with local residents as part of the Poland Has Won campaign following the 2025 presidential elections.

“We won on June 1, and nothing will stand in the way of President Karol Nawrocki being sworn in,” said the Law and Justice leader.

“We will have a president – a courageous man. During this campaign, he endured such a ‘bath’ in filth that it seemed unbearable. I am convinced that our opponents thought he would have to stop after such an attack, that we would break down, that we would lose motivation. That did not happen,”

Kaczyński emphasized.

“This is truly a huge and very important victory. It interrupted a certain process, the end goal of which was a new European treaty meant to strip us of our sovereignty. We know one thing – this President will not ratify it. And that is the reason why this victory sparked so much fury in Poland and so much concern in Germany,”

noted the opposition leader.

Kaczyński also said that “it cannot be once again that Polish independence is just an incident.”

“It is the duty of all generations to ensure that never happens. Poland must remain a sovereign state. Today, we have hope. Law and Justice is taking preparatory steps to draw full conclusions from what has happened in Poland. These are major programmatic preparations. At the end of October, the first major policy convention will take place. Poles should begin to talk about the past in order to forge a new vision for the future, because in many respects Poland must change. At the foundation of this must be a new Constitution. We must create a Constitution that cannot be toppled with the flick of a finger. Tusk and this government have chosen a course of escalating the conflict. They won’t scare us. The work of Żurek and Kierwiński will be Sisyphean,”

he declared.
