Kaczyński: EU’s SAFE is a trap for Poland. “It is an absurd undertaking”

“SAFE, in the EU’s version, is a trap for Poland,” said Law and Justice (PiS) leader Jarosław Kaczyński during a press conference in the Sejm. In the opposition leader’s view, President Karol Nawrocki will make “rational decisions that are good for Poland.”

President Karol Nawrocki has until March 20 to decide on the law implementing the EU’s SAFE program. Today, Law and Justice (PiS) leader Jarosław Kaczyński was asked about the issue in the Sejm.

“SAFE, in the EU’s version, is a trap for Poland, it is an absurd undertaking” – Kaczyński said, after which he addressed the reporter asking the question.

“If someone offers you a loan for a house – it is fairly well-interest-bearing, but the rate is not fixed, there is exchange-rate risk, but those are secondary matters. Above all, that person decides where the house will be, what kind of house it will be, and they can take the money away at any moment. Would you take such a loan?” – Kaczyński asked.

“The president is not irrational, he thinks rationally and – I believe – will make rational decisions that are good for Poland” – Kaczyński said.

According to the Law and Justice (PiS) leader, “a well-managed state will find money for the services and put all matters in order,” while “the formation that is currently in power is an anti-state, anti-Polish formation.”
