Kaczyński in a gesture of loyalty toward President Nawrocki: “I will return the Ukrainian order”

“This will be an expression of my attitude not so much toward Ukrainians, but toward the Ukrainian elites. On the other hand, it is an act of loyalty toward our president. Such acts of loyalty are needed today,” said the leader of Law and Justice (PiS) (PiS), Jarosław Kaczyński.

During Thursday’s press conference, the leader of Law and Justice (PiS) (PiS) was asked to assess the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk.

“The mayor of Lviv is present at this conference. Apart from the fact that he is clearly a Banderite, he is also a man who does not pay a Polish company for work that has already been completed,” said the Law and Justice (PiS) (PiS) leader.

As he pointed out, “the very presence of Andriy Sadovyi is a demonstration from the Ukrainian side of what relations with Poland are supposed to look like.” – “There is no point in having illusions,” he said, recalling outstanding payments to a Polish company for completed work.

Kaczyński then announced that he would return the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, 2nd Class, awarded to him by Ukraine.

“This will be an expression of my attitude not so much toward Ukrainians, but toward the Ukrainian elites. On the other hand, it is an act of loyalty toward our president. Such acts of loyalty are needed today,” he said.

On Saturday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he had returned the Order of the White Eagle to President Karol Nawrocki. A day earlier, Nawrocki announced that he was revoking Zelenskyy’s highest Polish state decoration due to the naming of one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the “Heroes of the UPA.” In response to Zelenskyy being stripped of the Order of the White Eagle, Ukrainian state decorations were renounced by: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov, his deputy Ihor Zhovkva, and Ukraine’s ambassador to Poland Vasyl Bodnar.
