Kaczyński in Słubice on the Threats of Illegal Migration: “Poland Is in a Special Situation”

“This represents a change in our status as a sovereign state. Germany, having their people in positions of power, is doing whatever it pleases. They are entering our territory!” declared Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of Law and Justice (PiS), during a visit to Słubice, referring to incidents of German police allegedly transporting migrants into Polish territory. Such cases have already been confirmed and documented.

Jarosław Kaczyński, President of the Law and Justice party, visited Słubice, where he took part in a press conference to express his opposition to illegal migration.

“Not long ago, this was a sovereign state that protected its borders. A state into which foreign police officers could not enter without any oversight. A state that fulfilled its duties. But unfortunately, the 15th of October came, followed by the 13th of December 2023, and everything changed. Poland is now in a special situation. It is uncertain whether we remain a sovereign state or whether we are ceasing to be one,”

Kaczyński stated.

Later, the PiS leader referred to remarks made by President Andrzej Duda. “The Germans made foolish decisions, and now we are the ones who are supposed to pay the price! It was the German chancellor who invited migrants, and now they are to be relocated to Poland. This cannot be accepted; this must be changed!” he emphasized.

“We do not agree!”

chanted the crowd.

Kaczyński added that information about what is occurring around Poland is available through German media. “From them, we learn that we are dealing with covert relocations (of migrants) between Germany and those who border Germany,” the PiS leader said.

“These relocations—if they are being carried out and kept hidden from Polish society—constitute yet another scandal. Every day brings a new scandal, an extraordinary situation. We are witnessing violations of the law, including human rights violations. But in this case, it is also a violation of our nation’s right to a peaceful, normal life,”

he noted.

“This is a change to our status as a sovereign state. Germany, having its people in positions of power, does whatever it wants. They enter our territories! There is no symmetry here, because it is not as if Polish police vehicles are entering Germany! (…) Germany is a state that did not punish its war criminals. And when we speak of reparations, they say ‘no.’ Neither did they punish nor they want to compensate for what they destroyed,”

he continued.

Kaczyński also reminded listeners of the upcoming 2025 presidential elections. “If we win those elections, a new situation will arise, a new political dynamic,” he emphasized.
