“The date and circumstances are classified,” emphasized Sławomir Cenckiewicz, commenting on media reports about joint military exercises involving President Karol Nawrocki and ministers from the government of Donald Tusk.
Unofficial media reports about Karol Nawrocki and government ministers taking part in joint military training were published by an RMF FM journalist. Kacper Wróblewski learned that various response scenarios to different threats were considered. Government spokesperson Adam Szłapka stated that the obligation to conduct such training stems from the provisions of the Homeland Defence Act.
Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz commented on the reports on X.
“After all, the date of this event and its circumstances are classified!” wrote the head of the National Security Bureau.
A minister speaks about the details
In a political interview on the same station, the Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki was asked about the absence of Tuesday’s government meeting. “We had a very important meeting (…) concerning security. (…) I cannot say too much about these exercises, but they are very important exercises where we coordinate various types of activities – the entire government takes part in them, they lasted from early morning until late afternoon”, Rutnicki explained, outlining the reason for cancelling Tuesday’s Council of Ministers meeting. He stressed that these are exercises he cannot discuss in detail.
