Friday marks another day of Karol Nawrocki’s foreign visit. The President, currently in Italy and the Vatican, will meet today with Pope Leo XIV and the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella.
The day begins around 10:45 a.m., with the arrival of Karol Nawrocki and his wife at the Vatican, where they will appear in the Courtyard of St. Damasus. Just fifteen minutes later, the President’s private audience with Pope Leo XIV will begin in the Apostolic Palace. Following the personal part of the meeting, there will be an official discussion, during which the papal photographer will also be present. A short photo session is planned with the President, his wife, and the Polish delegation together with the Pope in the Papal Library.
Next, the President will move to the Treaty Room of the Apostolic Palace, where at 12:00 noon he will meet with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin. After their talks, Nawrocki and the Polish delegation will depart for Rome.
At 1:00 p.m., the welcoming ceremony for Karol Nawrocki will take place at the Italian presidential palace. The Presidents of Poland and Italy will formally present their delegations and have official photographs taken in the Hall of Mirrors. Immediately following the ceremony, plenary talks will begin, chaired by Karol Nawrocki and the President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella.
The meeting is scheduled to conclude at 2:10 p.m., when Nawrocki will step out onto Piazza Pio XII to meet with representatives of the Polish media.
In the afternoon, the President will return to Poland, where tomorrow he will, among other things, take part in the nationwide reading of Jan Kochanowski’s poetry. On September 8 and 9, he will travel to Lithuania and Finland.
