Preliminary polling results from the presidential elections indicate that Karol Nawrocki will face Rafał Trzaskowski in the second round. “First and foremost, I wish to extend my gratitude to the millions of Poles who cast their votes for me, to the millions of Polish men and women who resisted the pressure of propaganda, deceit, and falsehood, and who did not succumb to the power of the institutions of Donald Tusk’s state,” stated Karol Nawrocki, the civic candidate for the presidency.
TV Republika presented its own exit poll—conducted by the National Research Group—which indicates that Karol Nawrocki secured 29.8% of the vote, while Rafał Trzaskowski received 31.6%.
Karol Nawrocki addressed his supporters directly: “I am grateful, proud, and deeply obligated in light of these votes, but above all, I am proud to be one of you.”
He went on to critique the electoral process: “These elections were the least fair in the past 35 years; they were fundamentally unjust. A torrent of propaganda and lies financed by state-owned enterprises. Polish state institutions were weaponized against a civic candidate. The party that supported me was stripped of its public subsidy. And what happened? Nothing! We are here—and we will win!”
Nawrocki proclaimed.
“This cosmetic difference between myself and Tusk’s deputy evokes the symbolism of this place, but also the memory of a great historical figure. We are in the BHP Hall, at the heart of the Gdańsk Shipyard, where the ideas of Solidarity and Polish freedom were born. And the man of freedom and solidarity was the late Lech Kaczyński, who lost the first round of the election to Donald Tusk, only to decisively win the second round and become the best president of the Third Republic of Poland,”
the presidential candidate recalled.
