“We are a national community, and cultural heritage is one of the foundations of our national unity. I will be the guardian of Polish culture. I assure you of that,” said Dr. Karol Nawrocki today during a meeting with representatives of Polish culture.
Nawrocki: “I do not want to support absurdities”
Karol Nawrocki emphasized the importance of our culture, national identity, and the preservation of our cultural achievements.
“I stand for freedom and normality in culture. There are state and presidential duties that must be upheld. As president, I do not want to support absurdities—only the cultural heritage of the Republic. I will maintain the successful formats introduced by President Andrzej Duda, such as the National Reading initiative, because this is extremely important for the president of the country. I will also strive to establish a Museum of Technology and Natural History. Such a museum was supposed to be built in Warsaw, but instead, we got the Museum of Absurdity named after Rafał Trzaskowski,” stressed Karol Nawrocki.
More culture in public life
The civic presidential candidate also addressed Donald Tusk, saying: “Less prosecution in cultural life, and more culture, Mr. Donald Tusk.”
According to Nawrocki, Poland today needs a president who understands Polish culture and the resources of a thousand-year-old Polish state.
“We do not need counterculture or national lobotomy. It is enough that we draw from what previous generations have created. I am one of you—one of the people of culture and Polish identity. I think we all feel that we have so much to say about ourselves, and we do not need foreign influences for that. Poland is rich in culture and has its own vibrant heritage and history.”
Karol Nawrocki also referenced the issue of reparations, stating that today, some individuals working in cultural institutions declare loyalty to Germany and claim that Poland should pay reparations to the German state.
“Such people should never hold any positions in cultural institutions,” emphasized Nawrocki.
