Kierwiński Again Attacks the Border Defence Movement. And Vows: “There Will Be No Step Back”

It did not take long for Marcin Kierwiński, head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, to respond to yesterday’s incident in Wałbrzych. “No one will disorganise the Polish state. No one will create an alternative legal reality. There will be no step back,” he wrote, referring, once again, to the Border Defence Movement.

Yesterday afternoon, Robert Bąkiewicz, founder of the Border Defence Movement (Ruch Obrony Granic, ROG), reported on an incident that took place in Wałbrzych. A demonstration by his group was held there yesterday and, according to Bąkiewicz’s account, was surrounded by the police.

Moreover, the ROG founder also stated that during the demonstration, a 90-year-old participant fainted.

Kierwiński Attacks ROG Again

In a series of social‑media posts, Robert Bąkiewicz challenged Marcin Kierwiński, the “new‑old” minister of the Interior: “Do you really want to fight against your own Nation?” Kierwiński himself was quick to reply.

“Today in Wałbrzych, the police acted towards Bąkiewicz’s team in full compliance with the law and established procedures. No one will disorganise the Polish state. No one will create an alternative legal reality,” he wrote, adding emphatically, “There will be no step back.”

It’s worth noting that this is yet another post in which a minister in Donald Tusk’s government attacks Poles guarding the border and opposing the influx of illegal migrants into Poland. Just on Thursday, he declared that “there will be no leniency,” and he branded members of the Border Defence Movement “impostors.”
