Latest poll: Poles’ views on the United States and President Trump revealed

More than half of Poles view the United States positively. Opinions on President Donald Trump are far more divided – according to a poll conducted by the Nationwide Research Group (OGB) on behalf of the National Polish American Foundation.

Who in Poland Considers the United States a Friend – and Who Sees It as an Enemy

The poll conducted by the Nationwide Research Group (OGB) for the National Polish American Foundation was described by the Business Insider Polska portal. The survey shows that as many as 57.68% of respondents view the United States positively, including 22.95% who strongly share this opinion. Only 9.71% of Poles consider the United States a hostile country. Meanwhile, 32.61% of respondents declare a neutral attitude toward the United States, indicating that the country is “neither an enemy nor a friend”.

Differences are also visible by gender and age. Among men, as many as 60.78% share the view of the United States as a friend of Poland. Among women, this figure stands at 54.56%. By age group, people aged 60-69 are the most pro-American (63.99%). The United States is rated much less favorably by those aged 40-49 (52.07%).

Significant differences in attitudes toward the United States are also evident along political lines. Among respondents with right-wing views, as many as 70.67% regard the United States as an ally. Among centrists and left-wing respondents, the results are much lower, at 48.51% and 47.94% respectively.

The most pro-American electorate is that of Law and Justice at 84.25%. The least sympathy for the United States is found among voters of the Together Party (39.62%) and the Polish People’s Party (39.38%).

The view of the United States as an enemy is most popular among the electorate of The Left (20.76%). Next come voters of the Confederation of the Polish Crown of Grzegorz Braun (14.18%) and the Civic Coalition (11.9%).

Opinions among Poles are far more divided when it comes to Donald Trump. Trust in the U.S. president is declared by 31.72% of respondents, while 40.07% hold the opposite view. Meanwhile, 28.21% of Poles remain ambivalent.
