Legia Warszawa supporters show no sign of letting up in their political campaign against Rafał Trzaskowski. During Wednesday’s Polish Cup final, they once more targeted the presidential hopeful.
The match itself was riveting: at Warsaw’s National Stadium, Legia edged Pogoń Szczecin 4–3 to claim the prestigious trophy. The stands were just as lively. Amid the elaborate tifos from both sets of fans, one banner from the capital club’s ultras stood out:
“18 May, 1 June – let’s not allow the mendacious, rainbow Rafał to rule Poland together with Sławek the junkie.”
While “Sławek the junkie” remains an object of speculation, there is no doubt that “Rafał” refers to Trzaskowski.
This is hardly the first time Legia’s faithful have made their feelings known. Previous matches have featured banners proclaiming “Anyone but Trzaskowski” and other slogans critical of the Civic Coalition candidate for president.
Notably, Legia supporters are not alone. The wider Polish football‑fan community appears to have coalesced around a shared opposition to Trzaskowski.
