He was the founder and long-time leader of the Confederation of Independent Poland (KPN), one of the first opposition parties during the Communist era. Moczulski spent six years in prison for his political activities and was arrested multiple times during the People’s Republic of Poland (PRL). He was also a co-founder of the Movement for the Defense of Human and Civic Rights (ROPCiO). Moczulski’s contribution to Poland’s fight for freedom made him a key figure in the country’s path to democracy.

    A Renowned Journalist and Politician
    Moczulski earned a law degree from the University of Warsaw in 1952 and later completed a degree in history. Before fully committing to politics, he worked as a journalist for several leading Polish publications and television. In post-communist Poland, Moczulski served as a member of parliament in the first two terms and even ran for the presidency in 1990. His contributions continue to shape Poland’s political landscape.
