As the Euro 2024 match against Austria approaches, the Polish national team is receiving positive updates. After a series of injuries hampered the team, Robert Lewandowski is now on track for a return. On Tuesday morning, he participated in a full training session with the squad. Lewandowski and Paweł Dawidowicz missed the opening match against the Netherlands due to injuries. However, recent updates from the Polish Football Association suggest both players should be ready for the second game.
Successful Recovery for Lewandowski
Monday’s MRI scan for Lewandowski showed no lingering issues, confirming his progress. Encouraging signs also emerged from Tuesday’s training. For the first time in a while, Lewandowski trained with the entire team rather than individually. Although he wore a bandage on his right leg, his involvement in the first 15 minutes of training, which were open to the media, indicated his readiness for the upcoming match.
The Polish squad trained in Hanover for nearly an hour before concluding the session. Following the training, most players returned to their hotel by bicycle. However, Lewandowski and Dawidowicz stayed behind for a more intense workout. This additional training indicates their commitment to regaining full fitness after missing the match against the Netherlands.
Poland’s Optimism Grows
With Lewandowski and Dawidowicz increasing their training intensity, Poland’s hopes are high for their clash against Austria. The team’s preparations are proceeding smoothly, and the return of key players is a significant boost. All eyes will be on Lewandowski as he aims to lead Poland to victory in their crucial Euro 2024 match.
