LOT Polish Airlines Cancels Flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut Amid Regional Tensions

LOT Polish Airlines has announced the cancellation of flights LO151/2 to Tel Aviv and 145/6 to Beirut, as confirmed by the airline’s spokesperson, Krzysztof Moczulski, on the social media platform X. The decision was made in response to the current political situation in the region.

The cancellations follow a significant escalation of tensions overnight, as Iran launched approximately 300 drones and missiles towards Israel. The Iranian military has described the attack as retaliation for the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which resulted in the deaths of several Iranian officers. Israel has been accused by Iran of orchestrating the attack.

Despite the severe overnight developments, Israel’s airspace was reopened early Sunday morning. According to Israeli media reports, operations at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv have returned to normal after being closed for seven hours due to the Iranian attack.

Travelers affected by the cancellations are advised to contact LOT Polish Airlines for rebooking options or further information regarding their travel plans.
