Majority of Poles Prioritize Healthcare Improvement for New Government’s Agenda

A recent survey by CBOS revealed that 64 percent of Poles believe enhancing the Polish healthcare system should be a key focus for the new opposition government.

The ‘Goals of the government’ survey, released on Tuesday, highlighted other prominent concerns, including the battle against inflation and its impacts (38 percent), investments in defense and security (36 percent), sustaining social transfers (34 percent), and reforms in the justice system (31 percent).

Notably, 29 percent emphasized unblocking EU post-pandemic funding withheld due to a rule-of-law dispute, while 28 percent sought accountability for the outgoing PiS government.

Additionally, 28 percent advocated for relaxing abortion laws, and 26 percent prioritized improving conditions for entrepreneurs. The study, conducted from December 4-8 through computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) with 1,000 adult residents of Poland, offers insights into the public’s expectations for the new government.
