Malfunction of Government Aircraft with Kosiniak-Kamysz on Board. Forced to Turn Back

A government aircraft carrying the Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, was forced to make an emergency return to Warsaw airport. A meeting at the Ramstein base, including with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, was delayed.

According to unofficial information, the government aircraft with the Polish delegation had to return to the military airport in Warsaw early in the morning after – as sources indicate – “one of the indicators suggested a malfunction related to the aircraft’s landing gear.”

Flight-tracking services show that the first aircraft, a government Gulfstream G550, took off at around 6:30 a.m. and turned back shortly afterward. The next aircraft, this time a Boeing 737, departed after 10:00 a.m.

In Ramstein, Germany, where the headquarters of U.S. Air Forces in Europe is located, Kosiniak-Kamysz is set to take part in a meeting with the most senior commanders of allied states at the invitation of NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe, Gen. Alexus Grynkevich. There, the head of the Ministry of National Defence is also scheduled to meet with the NATO Secretary General.
