    Man Arrested for Assault on a Member of Parliament

    Swift actions by police officers from Opole, in cooperation with officers from the Bełżyce Police Department, have led to the identification and arrest of the perpetrator who attacked a Member of Parliament from Lublin yesterday. The suspect has been identified as a 55-year-old individual and will face charges for assaulting a public officer.

    Yesterday, the Opole police duty officer received a report regarding the assault on a public officer during a campaign event at the market in Opole Lubelskie, where the Lublin Member of Parliament was distributing campaign pamphlets.

    The investigations conducted by the Opole law enforcement officers, in collaboration with the Bełżyce Police Department, resulted in the arrest of the suspect today. The offender has been identified as a 55-year-old resident of the Niedrzwica Duża municipality. He will be charged with assaulting a public officer, which carries a potential sentence of up to 3 years of imprisonment.
