Today marked the first day of the 38th session of the Sejm. Dariusz Matecki, a Member of Parliament from the Law and Justice (PiS) party, directed his remarks to Donald Tusk, who was absent from the chamber. He also pulled out a German flag.
Speaking from the parliamentary podium, Matecki said:
“Mr. Speaker, you have just been claiming—falsely—that there is no problem at the Polish-German border, that Germany is not pushing migrants into our country. Yet I showed you a recording from the night in Szczecin featuring Somali migrants. There have been many recordings showing German authorities transporting migrants into Poland—using the Border Guard as taxis for these people. People who are completely unidentifiable. We have no idea whether these are more murderers being sent into Poland.”
He then asked: “Whose interests are you serving?!”
“Why, instead of thanking citizen patrols, do you attack these people, accuse them, insult them? You prohibit them from using drones or even documenting what the Germans are doing at the border. Whose interests are you serving? I know whose. Donald Tusk, absent here today, directly serves the German state. So let him not be ashamed of his flag like Rafał Trzaskowski.”
After these remarks, the PiS MP pulled out a German flag and, as he descended from the podium, placed it on the prime minister’s desk.
