Mentzen prepared his demands, and Trzaskowski says: “No, I won’t sign anything!”

During a conversation with Sławomir Mentzen, Rafał Trzaskowski announced that he would not sign the demands prepared by the Confederation candidate for second-round participants. “What’s the harm in signing?” Mentzen asked, but to no avail.

Civic Coalition candidate for President Rafał Trzaskowski appeared on Sławomir Mentzen’s show. The conversation, streamed on the channel of the candidate who finished third in the presidential election, enjoyed enormous popularity, attracting over 600,000 viewers at one point. After discussing the first four points from the list Mentzen prepared for the runoff candidates, the Confederation politician asked whether Trzaskowski would put his signature under these demands.

“No, I won’t sign anything!” Trzaskowski replied. “What’s the harm in signing?” Mentzen encouraged him.

“I’ve made a certain kind of declaration; you’ll always be able to hold me accountable for it. Why do we need signatures? Declarations are enough,” Trzaskowski responded.

“When someone signs something, they become more committed to it,” Mentzen persisted, but Trzaskowski held firm: “Everyone heard it, 600,000 [people] heard my declarations.”

“So I’m addressing each of the millions of viewers: Remember what Rafał Trzaskowski said—it might be useful someday. It’s intriguing that you don’t want to sign your own words,” Mentzen concluded.

It is worth noting that Karol Nawrocki signed a declaration agreeing to all eight of Sławomir Mentzen’s demands.
