Military Cadets Support Flood Defenses in Poland

Students from military universities in Dęblin, Warsaw, and Wrocław have joined flood defense efforts in Poland. Cadets were deployed to strengthen levees along the Bystrzyca, Ślęza, Widawa, and Odra rivers. Volunteers also aided these efforts outside of regular duty hours.

    Extensive Support

The Military University of Technology sent 202 cadets, the Land Forces Academy dispatched 105, and the Air Force Academy contributed 90. Cadets in Wrocław operated under the Territorial Defense Forces. Additional support came from military trainees attending specialist training at the Engineering and Chemical Warfare Training Center.

Stanisław Wziątek, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense, expressed gratitude to the cadets. During his visit to the Military University of Technology on September 18, he emphasized that modern threats to security include unforeseen natural disasters like the current floods.

    Continuing the Mission

Cadets from the Air Force Academy helped fill sandbags and patrolled the Odra River area. Meanwhile, Land Forces Academy cadets supported flood defense efforts near Wrocław, enforcing safety measures around flood infrastructure. As of September 21-22, 25,000 soldiers are expected to participate in these critical operations.
