Military Police in Parliament? TV Republika: Officers Search for Suspects in the “Vistula Line” Investigation

Military Police units were conducting intensive operations in Warsaw today. According to information shared on platform X by Michał Rachoń, program director at TV Republika, “the officers are looking for individuals targeted in the investigation concerning the so-called ‘Vistula Line.’”

As TV Republika journalists have learned, Military Police officers appeared in the Polish Parliament (Sejm) as part of their actions in the capital. According to reports, they were seeking individuals under investigation in connection with the controversial “Vistula Line” case — among them former Defense Minister in the PiS government, Mariusz Błaszczak.

The prosecutorial team led by Col. Marcin Maksjan has reportedly accelerated the proceedings and intends to file charges before August 6. “There’s a rush to deliver summons to all those falsely accused — they are expected to report immediately and review the evidence,” Rachoń reported on X.

According to TV Republika, Military Police have already spoken with Mariusz Błaszczak.

The investigation, led by what TV Republika describes as an “illegal” prosecutor’s office, aims to press charges against Błaszczak for abuse of power. The accusations stem from his decision, as defense minister, to declassify parts of a top-secret military document — the 2011 “WARTA-00101” Armed Forces Use Plan — in July 2023 and disclose it publicly in September of that year.

Błaszczak revealed at the time that under Civic Platform (PO) rule, Poland’s defense strategy in the event of a Russian invasion included plans to defend only up to the Vistula River — effectively conceding the eastern half of the country to the enemy.
