    More and more female scientists and engineers in Poland

    In 2021, the number of female scientists and engineers in the EU was 6.9 million, with an increase of 369 800 from the previous year. This accounted for 41% of total science and engineering employment, Eurostat wrote in its article. 

    According to the latest data, the number of female scientists and engineers in the EU increased. 

    “Looking at the specific high-tech related aggregates, women represented 46% of the scientists and engineers in the knowledge-intensive services, 22% in the high-technology sectors (high-technology manufacturing and knowledge-intensive high-technology services) and only 18% in the high and medium-technology manufacturing,”

    Eurostat wrote.

    “Poland is one of the leading countries in the European Union when it comes to women scientists and engineers,”

    the State of Poland wrote on Twitter and attached the graph. 

    At the NUTS 1 (major socio-economic regions) regional level, female scientists and engineers were in the majority in 14 EU regions. Among these regions, there are two located in Poland. Eurostat provides us with information that in Makroregion Centralny there are 55% of female scientists and engineers while in Makroregion Wschodni there are 53%.
