MP Morawiecki: Wealth is concentrating in five major urban centers

“We must now look at Poland’s development in a coordinated and comprehensive way. That is why we must say: enough!” said Mateusz Morawiecki yesterday during a convention in Łódź. The former prime minister recalled the implementation of the Strategic Investment Program, which the government of Law and Justice carried out nationwide under its leadership.

“It was a completely different philosophy of implementing investments. Thanks to the funds from the Strategic Investment Program, it was possible to carry out many groundbreaking projects for local governments and to catch up on delays that had accumulated over the years in individual regions,”

said Mateusz Morawiecki.

The former prime minister also addressed economic issues. He pointed out how an economy largely based on state-owned enterprises affects specific local governments.

“Unfortunately, this is a system that entrenches inequalities between local governments, and one that our successors are now implementing with full force. The accumulation of wealth in five major centers means that all the rest are becoming poorer, unable to obtain adequate resources for development. The philosophy that we, Law and Justice, and representatives of right-wing thought have advocated for many decades will ensure that Poland develops evenly, without unnecessarily strengthening certain centers at the expense of others,”

emphasized Mateusz Morawiecki.
