Mysterious Death of 4-Month-Old Oskar. Shocking Findings by “Gazeta Polska Codziennie”

The District Court for Warsaw Praga-Południe, 5th Family and Juvenile Division, issued an order placing two children in foster care on the very day that four-month-old Oskar died. “This is a scandal,” commented a well-known lawyer on the findings published by Gazeta Polska Codziennie.

All of Poland is following this shocking case. Police detained the boy’s mother to escort her to prison under a court order; because of her detention, the prosecution said, it became necessary to arrange care for her two children—a three-year-old girl and a four-month-old boy—who were not entrusted to their great-grandmother despite her willingness to look after them.

The children were placed in foster care. On 19 May, the four-month-old boy died under mysterious circumstances.

“Signs of cardio-respiratory failure were noted. No injuries were found on the child’s body that would indicate death as a result of trauma. No food was discovered in the child’s airways either, which could suggest choking. To determine the cause of death more fully, experts are conducting further examinations,” the prosecution stated.

Equally shocking is how Oskar’s mother was treated: she was brought to her child’s funeral in a prison uniform and with linked handcuffs. The Prison Service has already confirmed that irregularities occurred in this regard.

GPC: Decision Taken on the Day of Oskar’s Death

Gazeta Polska Codziennie has uncovered new information.

“The family court issued a decision to place the children—Oskar and Lena—in foster families on the same day Oskar died, only four days after the children had been taken from their mother,” today’s GPC reports.

“This is unlawful! Several provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights were violated. The children were removed and transferred without judicial oversight. We must ask: Was little Oskar still alive when the court ruled about him? Did the court know he had died?” says attorney Michał Skwarzyński.
