President Karol Nawrocki was named by respondents as the most important politician in the country in 2025. On the international stage, Donald Trump emerged as the winner. These conclusions come from the latest CBOS survey.
Nawrocki Number One in Poland
At the turn of November and December 2025, CBOS asked Poles who, in their opinion, most deserved the title of Politician of the Year. Respondents named individuals themselves, without being given a predefined list of answers.
In the domestic ranking, Karol Nawrocki came out on top, with 16 percent of respondents, the highest result in the entire survey. The next places were shared ex aequo by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, each with 8 percent. At the same time, nearly half of the respondents did not name any politician, stating that no one deserved the title or that they had no opinion on the matter.
In the category of Politician of the Year worldwide, Donald Trump won, named by 11 percent of those surveyed. He was followed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Emmanuel Macron. CBOS notes that Poles find it more difficult to make clear-cut assessments of foreign politicians than of domestic ones.
“Choosing a politician of the year from among representatives of the international political scene generally poses more difficulty for respondents than identifying the most outstanding figure in domestic politics,”
the CBOS report states.
The survey was conducted on a representative sample of 948 adult Poles. The results show the continued popularity of right-wing politicians not only in Poland but also globally.
