“The legislative initiatives submitted in the first days of my presidency “have been sitting in the Sejm’s freezer” for over a hundred days,” President of Poland Karol Nawrocki once again reminded on social media.
On Friday, President Karol Nawrocki appealed to the Speaker of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, the governing parties, and all members of parliament for a reliable, substantive debate on the proposed regulations. The announcement also included a list of 13 presidential initiatives, together with the dates they were submitted to the Sejm. According to that list, the first of the presidential initiatives was submitted to the Sejm on August 7, the day after Nawrocki’s inauguration, and the most recent one on November 18.
President: The counter increases every day
Karol Nawrocki reminded the public about the counter displayed on the website prezydent.pl. He illustrated this… with a GIF showing him sighing heavily during a meeting with government representatives at the Cabinet Council.
“The legislative initiatives submitted in the first days of my presidency “have been sitting in the Sejm’s freezer” for over a hundred days. The counter increases every day, and citizens are waiting for better law – so am I,”
the president wrote.
Złożone w pierwszych dniach mojej prezydentury inicjatywy ustawodawcze pozostają w sejmowej zamrażarce od ponad stu dni.

Unfortunately, little suggests that the situation may improve. Yesterday, Sejm Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty suggested that the president should… consult his draft bills with the Sejm.
