Nawrocki kept his word. Tusk’s government will have to explain its plans regarding CPK and nuclear power

President Karol Nawrocki kept his word and convened the Council of Ministers’ Cabinet. Donald Tusk’s government will have to explain the state of the national budget and its plans for key investments – the construction of Central Communication Port (CPK) and nuclear power plants.

During Karol Nawrocki’s swearing-in, the President of Poland in his address assessed that breakthrough investment projects in Poland can currently be divided into “those completely blocked, those cut down, and those – in the best-case scenario – delayed.” And therefore – he added – he invites Prime Minister Donald Tusk and his government ministers to a meeting of the Council of Ministers’ Cabinet, which will take place still in August.

He announced that it would be devoted mainly to development investments and public finance issues. And so it will be – there is already official confirmation.

According to the Chancellery of the President of Poland, the agenda of the Council of Ministers’ Cabinet on August 27 this year will include discussion of:

  • the state of the national budget and the situation of public finances
  • the progress and plans of the Council of Ministers regarding the implementation of development investments, in particular the construction of the Central Communication Port (CPK) and the construction of nuclear power plants
  • the planned actions of the Council of Ministers aimed at protecting Polish agriculture and Polish agricultural production from the consequences of the influx of agricultural products from outside the European Union, in particular in the context of the European Union–Mercosur trade agreement and the trade arrangement between the European Union and Ukraine concerning agricultural and food products.
According to Article 141 of the Constitution, in matters of particular importance, the President of the Republic may convene the Council of Ministers’ Cabinet. The Council of Ministers’ Cabinet is formed by the Council of Ministers deliberating under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic.
