President Karol Nawrocki thanked those who gathered in front of the Presidential Palace on Friday to express support for the head of state in the face of what he described as a wave of coordinated hate from circles associated with the current government. “Tusk wants to cement Poland with the German SAFE, and we will not allow it,” said MP Janusz Kowalski.
The Gazeta Polska Clubs spontaneously organized a rally to support the president amid what they called a campaign of hatred directed against him, which began after he vetoed the EU SAFE loan.
“As a rule, I do not take part in political demonstrations; I only report on them, but what has happened over the past few hours is extraordinary and requires a response. In this famous SAFE loan, 3 billion was allocated for the largest bribe for journalists and commentators in history,”
said Editor-in-Chief Tomasz Sakiewicz during the rally.
“Our colleagues who are so boldly attacking the president today were supposed to share 3 billion from our pockets to promote the SAFE program. There has never been such large-scale bribery of journalists, commentators, and analysts in history. And the nonsense you are hearing about this project, a financially unfavorable project, that makes us dependent, that damages Polish-American relations and cuts us off from our most important ally, but above all leads to a situation where after a few years of its operation there will be no money for the army, because it is a snake that eats its own tail,”
Sakiewicz emphasized.
“No Consent to Surrender Sovereignty”
Among those present were activists of the anti-communist opposition as well as politicians.
“I remember Tusk, who, together with Putin, wanted to cement Poland until 2037 with Russian gas. And today, 16 years later, Tusk wants to cement Poland with the German SAFE, and we will not allow it,” the MP announced. He added that if Donald Tusk tries to break the law and take out this loan, he will face the State Tribunal.
“He will be charged, and he will go to prison,”
Janusz Kowalski stressed.
President Nawrocki thanked those present at the rally in a post on X.
