Nawrocki to make first presidential visit to U.S.? Szefernaker: “It’s our campaign commitment”

During an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the YouTube platform, Paweł Szefernaker was asked whether Karol Nawrocki—according to earlier announcements—would make his first foreign visit as president to the U.S. leader. “Karol Nawrocki declared during the campaign that, once sworn in and officially president of the Republic of Poland, he would plan a trip to the United States,” said the PiS politician.

“Nawrocki is a guarantee of good relations with the American administration”

He added that Nawrocki has already spoken with Trump, “during which both gentlemen agreed that this visit should take place.” “This is our commitment, made during the campaign,” Szefernaker emphasized. However, he noted that “it’s difficult to say, due to schedules, plans, and various international events,” when the new president will ultimately make the visit to the USA.

He also stressed that Nawrocki is a guarantee of good relations with the American administration and that this was one of the reasons he defeated the “stand-in for Donald Tusk,” i.e., the Civic Coalition (KO) candidate Rafał Trzaskowski, in the election. “Why do I say stand-in for Donald Tusk? Because unfortunately, Donald Tusk is a person who influenced the deterioration of the relationship between the (Donald Trump) administration and the Polish government,” said Szefernaker.

The former head of Nawrocki’s campaign staff was also asked about the role the internet campaign played in the election victory. “A huge one. Because if not for the efforts of many people involved in the social movement around Karol Nawrocki, we wouldn’t have been able to raise the 23 million 200 thousand złoty (for the campaign),” said Szefernaker.

He noted that raising such a large sum from voter contributions for campaign purposes is a record in Poland. “No one has ever raised that much,” he emphasized.

Szefernaker was also asked whether the president-elect would appear at the PiS congress in Przysucha this Saturday at noon. “Karol Nawrocki is not a member of the party,” said Szefernaker, without giving a definitive answer. He added that Nawrocki had taken part in a rally in Pułtusk together with PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński and other key party figures, as a way of thanking voters and the party’s organizational structures.
