“They want a president whose role is simply to notarize the decisions made by the current prime minister. In such a scenario, the decision-making chain in the Polish state would look as follows: first Berlin or Brussels, then the Polish Prime Minister, and finally a notary in the Presidential Palace,” warns Karol Nawrocki.
On Monday, the National Electoral Commission (PKW) announced the official results of the first round of the presidential election. The two candidates with the most votes were Civic Coalition candidate Rafał Trzaskowski and the independent candidate supported by Law and Justice (PiS), Karol Nawrocki. They will face off in the second round of voting on June 1.
“On June 1, we will be answering the question: Whose Poland will this be? If it becomes the Poland of Donald Tusk’s deputy—Rafał Trzaskowski—if Donald Tusk closes the door behind Rafał Trzaskowski in the Presidential Palace, then we can be certain that the voice of us conservatives, the voice of the Polish right, but also the voice of those on the left who remain conscious and reflective, will not be heard,”
emphasized the civic presidential candidate.
As Nawrocki stated, “They want a president whose only role is to serve as a notary for the decisions of the current prime minister.” He reiterated: “In that case, the chain of decisions in the Polish state will look like this: first Berlin or Brussels, then the Polish Prime Minister, and finally a notary in the Presidential Palace.”
What does this mean for Poland?
“The Migration Pact—accelerated and implemented. Foreign integration centres. The Green Deal. Polish farms and forests—destroyed. The euro—introduced,” Nawrocki listed, asking in the same breath:
“I say it clearly: No to illegal migration; deportation centres for illegal immigrants instead of integration centres. No to the euro. No to the Green Deal. This is Poland—free, independent, sovereign!”
