“President Trump, stop the Bolsheviks on August 15, 2025, just as Poland did — with the participation of Ukrainian soldiers — on August 15, 1920!” These were the words reportedly addressed to Donald Trump during Wednesday’s videoconference by the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki. American media outlets have taken notice.
On Wednesday, President Karol Nawrocki took part in a videoconference with Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky, and leaders of European Union countries.
The discussions focused on the war in Ukraine and relations with Russia.
According to presidential minister Marcin Przydacz, during the over hour-long conversation, Karol Nawrocki presented “the position we have maintained over recent months and years in the face of Russia’s aggressive policy — that only through strong language and concrete, firm action can the Russian Federation be deterred” and that Russia must not be allowed to decide what Europe’s borders will look like.
“It also had to be made clear that the final resolution of this issue must involve the participation of the Ukrainian state and its representatives,” emphasized the head of the Presidential Bureau of International Policy.
Nawrocki’s Words Energized Trump
American media, however, highlighted one particular statement made by Karol Nawrocki.
“The President of Poland reminded Donald Trump of the Battle of Warsaw, which took place exactly 105 years ago, when Poland fought side by side with Ukrainians against the Russian Bolsheviks,” reported Axios.
The Polish portal 300polityka.pl presented the quote as follows:
“President Trump, stop the Bolsheviks on August 15, 2025, just as Poland did — with the participation of Ukrainian soldiers — on August 15, 1920!”
The portal added that Donald Trump appeared “energized” upon hearing Karol Nawrocki.
Nawrocki’s remarks sparked a wave of comments online.
