The budget deficit expected by the end of this year under Donald Tusk’s government is projected to reach 300 billion zlotys—twice the amount Poland currently spends on defence. “If Rafał Trzaskowski wins, pensions will be endangered,” warned Karol Nawrocki, the civic candidate for the presidency supported by the Law and Justice party (PiS), during a presidential debate aired on Republika.
Supports incentives for pensioners
Karol Nawrocki assured all retirees that he would never agree to raising the retirement age.
“Of course, I will encourage pensioners and am ready to support initiatives aimed at motivating those pensioners who make such a choice to remain active in the labour market,”
he emphasized.
“First and foremost, I would like to highlight that there are 60 million of us,” Nawrocki noted. “We should seek legal and legislative solutions that would facilitate the return to Poland of those who currently reside abroad but wish to conduct their business activities here,” he added.
“I am, of course, an advocate of the principle and process: for everyone new regulation introduced, two should be removed. However, we must also seek legal and legislative frameworks that enable the return of those currently outside the country,”
he reiterated.
