Police officers in Trondheim, central Norway, received numerous reports. Witnesses noticed drones on Saturday morning flying over the Oerland military airbase. This is particularly alarming, as Norwegian F-35 fighter jets are stationed there.
In an official statement, police admitted that it is still too early to determine what type of objects were observed over the military base.
At the same time, they confirmed that they had received many reports, and each of them – in connection with recent incidents in Denmark and at Oslo-Gardermoen Airport – is being treated very seriously.
Oerland is the main airport of the Norwegian Air Force. Two squadrons of F-35 fighters are stationed there, along with maritime rescue units, and the base is prepared to handle AWACS early warning aircraft.
