“Members of the National Defense Committee, on which I serve, were given the opportunity to review the list of projects being sent to Brussels just two days before the Sejm committee meeting at which we were supposed to discuss it. We received a single copy of a several-hundred-page document in English. The minister responsible for the program informed us that no Polish-language version had been prepared at all. It was several hundred pages written in highly technical English,” revealed Przemysław Wipler, an MP from Confederation. The matter concerns the SAFE program.
Last week, Niezalezna reported that the largest beneficiary from the list of projects planned under the SAFE program in the area of key ammunition production is a private entity – Polska Amunicja. The company is headed by former MP of Civic Platform (KO) and its former parliamentary candidate, Paweł Poncyljusz.
The portal has now obtained further information. It turns out that the state-owned Polish Armaments Group (Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa) is to receive approximately €800 million under SAFE for the production of 155 mm ammunition. Unlike the company headed by Poncyljusz, it is already producing such ammunition and is capable of increasing output further.
Members of Law and Justice (PiS) commented on these findings during a press conference today.
“We do not consent to some shell company, headed by former KO MP Paweł Poncyljusz – a friend of Cezary Tomczyk and Donald Tusk – receiving PLN 10 billion for ammunition production,” said Janusz Kowalski, an MP from Law and Justice (PiS).
Wipler Reveals Shocking Details
A member of the Sejm’s National Defense Committee, Przemysław Wipler from Confederation, shared alarming information about the SAFE program on Radio Wnet. He explained when members of the committee were able to review the list of projects.
In this context, it is worth recalling that a few days ago another member of the same committee – Andrzej Śliwka from Law and Justice (PiS) – revealed on TV Republika that Germany’s ambassador, Miguel Berger, had been familiar with the “secret list” much earlier, while even the Polish public does not know precisely what Poland is taking out a loan for.
It was several hundred pages written in highly technical English,” Wipler said.
But that is not all.
As the politician revealed, “only a few (committee members – ed.) had the chance to review it, because once someone sat down with it, they would be reading for several hours. And in this manner, a classified document arrives at the Sejm two days before a discussion about what and from whom we are supposed to purchase. And it is classified, we cannot talk about it, so that you, Mr. Editor, and our listeners cannot find out exactly what and from whom we are to buy. And then it turns out that PLN 10 billion is to go to a company headed by a PO politician, in which the government has just handed over half of the shares for PLN 2 million.”
