Opposition to Illegal Migration: Czarnek Emphasizes Importance of Nawrocki’s Swearing-In

The march scheduled for October 11 will be a protest against the accelerated migration pact being imposed on Poland, announced Przemysław Czarnek, Vice President of Law and Justice (PiS), during an appearance on TV Republika. The politician emphasised that expressing opposition to the EU’s migration policy still holds significance. However, he pointed out that the current priority is ensuring that Karol Nawrocki is sworn in as President.

On Tuesday, PiS Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński announced that a demonstration against illegal migration will take place on October 11. He also called upon “all patriotic forces” to take part in the event.

The initiative was commented on later in the evening by PiS Vice President Przemysław Czarnek on TV Republika. “This is meant to be a protest against the accelerated migration pact that is being imposed on Poland,” he emphasised in an interview with Danuta Holecka.

He noted that the decision to accelerate the migration pact was made in Warsaw during a summit of EU interior ministers. He recalled that, according to statements from Brussels politicians, the EU tolerated the opposition of Donald Tusk’s government to migrant relocation until June 1 – the date of the presidential elections.

“Fortunately, Trzaskowski did not become president, and that’s why the problem today lies with those who want to push illegal immigrants across the western border. This is the reason for the Border Defence Movement, which forced the Polish state to take more effective action on the western border, allowing services to carry out duties they had neglected due to the previous policies of Tusk’s government. That’s also why we’re calling on everyone to take to the streets on October 11 and continue to protest against the accelerated migration pact,”

he said.

“Nawrocki Will Safeguard Security”

Czarnek stressed that the protest concerns illegal migration, not legal migration. “I am in favour of creating a migration policy in Poland that primarily supports legal migration to Poland, especially by Poles scattered across the world, there are over 20 million of them,” he stated.

“Today, the problem is the accelerated migration pact being imposed on Poland, and we are protesting against it. Today, the problem is the transfer of illegal migrants both across the eastern border by Lukashenko and Putin, and across the western border by the Germans. This is the subject of our total opposition,” he declared.

He underlined that opposition to the accelerated relocation of migrants can still be effective.

“This pact is set to come into effect in the middle of next year. First and foremost, we must ensure on August 6 that no foolish ideas arise and that Karol Nawrocki is sworn in as President of the Republic of Poland. One of Nawrocki’s key campaign pledges was to ‘stop any migration pact and illegal migration.’ As head of state, he will uphold the value of security in Poland, which depends on whether these illegal migrants pose the same threat here as they have on the streets of Western Europe,”

he said.
