The entrepreneur running a swingers club who received over 443,000 PLN for the “diversification of catering activities” has responded to the massive controversy surrounding the allocation of these funds. The man pointed out that “this wasn’t money lying on the street, the grant is closed and settled” and said he can present all the documents. “What inspections was Tusk talking about if everything has already been settled, audited, and the expenditure and funding for the Swingers Club was approved?” – asks PiS MP Rafał Bochenek.
KPO scandal
After the announcement that funds from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) would be released quickly, companies from the HoReCa sector (hospitality, catering, tourism, and culture) rushed to submit applications. The recruitment process ended, and the government proudly announced on its website: “We have already signed 1,621 contracts.”
A map showing KPO grants was also published. Funds went to entrepreneurs for items such as coffee machines, floating houses, tanning beds in pizzerias, and yachts. Wide coverage was also given to the case of an entrepreneur from the Silesian Voivodeship who received 443,000 PLN for the “diversification of catering activities.” The key fact, however, is that the address given is the location of a swingers club.
The swingers club owner explains: “The grant has been settled”
The entrepreneur who received the 443,000 PLN gave his explanation to the tabloid Fakt.
“I’ve been running a business since 2007. I had small eateries, earlier there was a disco here, and only after COVID did a swingers club open. The grant I applied for was post-COVID assistance to expand my business operations. The idea was to build a ‘second leg,’ so that in case of another crisis, we could stay afloat,” he explained.
He added that expanding the catering business “cost 600,000 PLN,” so he had to provide 200,000 PLN from his own funds.
“This wasn’t money lying on the street. I took out a bank loan, taking the risk of whether the venture would succeed,” he continued.
When asked whether he feared the inspections announced by Prime Minister Tusk, he replied: “No problem, go ahead and inspect. The grant is closed and settled; I can show all the invoices.”
“Another Tusk charade?”
PiS MP Rafał Bochenek commented on the entrepreneur’s words in a post on X.
“What inspections was Tusk talking about if everything has already been settled, audited, and the expenditure and funding for the Swingers Club was approved? Another Tusk charade? KPO is Tusk’s great scam… An embarrassment for this government,” the politician wrote.
