Patriotic Spectacle in Warsaw: Thousands Celebrate President Nawrocki’s Historic Inauguration

Karol Nawrocki took the oath today before the National Assembly and officially became the President of Poland. It was a day full of emotion and solemn words. The President delivered his first address and assumed command of the Armed Forces. The official entry of the presidential couple and their children into the Presidential Palace also took place. All of this happened under the watchful eyes of Polish patriots who flocked to the streets of Warsaw to celebrate the inauguration of their elected candidate.

“Assuming, by the will of the Nation, the office of President of the Republic of Poland, I solemnly swear to remain faithful to the provisions of the Constitution, to steadfastly safeguard the dignity of the Nation, the independence and security of the State, and that the good of the Homeland and the well-being of its citizens shall always be my highest command. So help me God!” — these were the words of the oath taken today by President Karol Nawrocki before the National Assembly.

The President then delivered his first address in the Sejm, during which he announced his active participation in political life and did not hold back sharp criticism toward Donald Tusk’s government. At the same time, he emphasized that he was open to dialogue.

“I would like to warmly invite you to a meeting of the Cabinet Council, which will be held later this August. I would like to discuss with the Polish government issues of developmental investments — the most important projects that lie ahead — as well as the state of public finances. I feel obligated, Mr. Prime Minister, as President of Poland, to have full information about the condition of the Polish state,” said President Nawrocki.

After the address, the President greeted guests who had traveled to Warsaw for the occasion of his inauguration.

Later, a Holy Mass was celebrated at the Archcathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist in intention for the Homeland and the President of the Republic of Poland. Following the service, an investiture ceremony took place at the Royal Castle, during which Karol Nawrocki was formally appointed Grand Master of the Order of the White Eagle and the Order of Polonia Restituta.

The President, along with the First Lady and their children, then proceeded to the Presidential Palace, where they were welcomed by the outgoing presidential couple.

This was followed by the official transfer of command over the Polish Armed Forces to President Karol Nawrocki.

“Today, our only symbol and emblem is the White Eagle and the white-and-red flag. And your President will never, I promise you, say ‘forward!’ to you. I will always say ‘follow me!’” — President Nawrocki said to the uniformed services.

All the ceremonies were broadcast by Telewizja Republika, while thousands of members of the “Gazeta Polska” Clubs and Polish patriots gathered in the streets of Warsaw.
