Peace Council Charter Signed. President Trump Criticizes UN Actions

Today in Davos, the founding document of the Peace Council was signed, endorsed by Donald Trump and the leaders of approximately 20 “founding” countries. “Today the world is richer, safer, and far more peaceful than it was just a year ago. We have extinguished all the fires that many people didn’t even know about,” Donald Trump said during his address. In his brief speech, he also mentioned President Karol Nawrocki.

During the World Economic Forum in Davos, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, signed the founding document of the Peace Council.

Ahead of the ceremony, it was indicated that about 30 countries would join President Trump’s project, and invitations were sent to around 60 world leaders.

Twenty national leaders – signatories of the Council – took part in the ceremony. On stage appeared the President of Argentina, Javier Milei, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, as well as representatives of Bahrain, Morocco, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia.

During his address, Trump emphasized that it was “a very exciting day” and that every country would like to be a member of the Peace Council. He added that the Council would cooperate, among others, with the United Nations. He stated that so far “we have stopped eight wars,” and that the next one would be the war in Ukraine.

He stressed that representatives of “the first group of distinguished members of the Peace Council” would be introduced by his spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt.

Trump also personally mentioned the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, emphasizing that he is “a wonderful man who won the election” and that “he (Trump – ed.) is proud of that.” The U.S. president also mentioned former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who will not sit on the board but will be a member of the Peace Executive Council. “Today the world is richer, safer, and far more peaceful than it was just a year ago. We have extinguished all the fires that many people didn’t even know about,” said the U.S. president.

The American leader also noted that at his request, most NATO allies have increased their military spending, but Spain “remains behind” and wants to “free-ride.”

In his speech, Trump addressed Venezuela and the detention of Nicolas Maduro. “We are opening the country to our oil giants, and it’s going great. We have already extracted 50 million barrels of oil, and much of that will return to Venezuela. Venezuela will achieve higher revenues in a short time thanks to us than it did over years,” he said.

Donald Trump assessed that the UN is not making use of its “enormous potential.” He added that “many wonderful people work in the Organization,” but it has not made sufficient efforts to end conflicts around the world.
