Pegasus spectacle begins: Ziobro before the Pegasus Commission today, prosecutor’s office questioning tomorrow

“Tusk is once again staging the ‘Pegasus’ spectacle: today the Pegasus Commission with Zbigniew Ziobro, and tomorrow they summoned me to the National Prosecutor’s Office (PK),” announced former Deputy Minister of Justice Michał Woś on social media.

Today at Chopin Airport in Warsaw, former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro was detained. At dawn, police were present in several locations connected to Ziobro, even though the former minister himself had announced that he was in Brussels and would return to Poland on Monday morning. According to numerous reports, police cars were visible throughout Warsaw this morning – especially near parliamentary buildings. Unmarked vehicles were also said to be parked close to the headquarters of TV Republika.

MP Michał Woś, a former Deputy Minister of Justice involved in the purchase of the Pegasus system, stated today on social media that he had been summoned on Tuesday to the National Prosecutor’s Office (PK).

“People are announcing they will show up to protest against repression. Tuesday, September 30, 11:00 a.m., Postępu 3,” wrote Woś.

On Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., a press briefing by PiS politicians is scheduled to take place in front of the prosecutor’s office.

This is just a warmed-over story

“The state’s involvement in this political spectacle is enormous. We are fully aware that the political groups that won the elections want revenge on the governments of United Right. But this dish has been reheated far too many times,” said MP Norbert Kaczmarczyk in an interview with niezalezna.pl.

He admitted that software such as Pegasus is of great importance in the context of the war in Ukraine and numerous provocations from Russia and Belarus.

“They should be giving the minister flowers for having this system, for continuing to use it, and instead they are destroying people for its purchase – creating a situation where, before the eyes of the whole world, a former Minister of Justice and his team are being dragged before the Pegasus Commission illegally,” he added.
