PiS Accuses Prime Minister’s Office of Withholding Information

Polish MPs Bartosz Kownacki and Jarosław Krajewski from the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party have accused the Prime Minister’s Office (KPRM) of withholding information. They claim that for over 70 days, their official inquiries regarding the office’s operations, including Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s schedule and use of special transport, have gone unanswered.

Lack of Response Sparks Controversy

The MPs stated that during their parliamentary inspection at KPRM on December 11, 2024, officials were unable or unwilling to provide answers. According to Kownacki, the office’s leadership was absent, and staff appeared uneasy about their presence. Following the visit, they submitted a formal request for information but have yet to receive a response.

To escalate the matter, Kownacki and Krajewski reported the issue to Parliament Speaker Szymon Hołownia, who, according to them, directed KPRM head Jan Grabiec to disclose the requested details. Despite this, no further action has been taken, prompting the MPs to demand immediate answers from both Tusk and Grabiec.

Krajewski publicly questioned why the Prime Minister’s Office is reluctant to share the requested information. “What is Donald Tusk afraid of? What is Minister Grabiec hiding?” he asked, emphasizing PiS’s demand for transparency in government operations.
