Law and Justice (PiS) has decided to ban party members from participating in associations, foundations, and other organizations of a political nature. The decision applies, among others, to the “Rozwój Plus” (Development Plus)association founded by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
The decision regarding Morawiecki’s association was first reported by TV Republika’s head of editors, Jarosław Olechowski.
“The Presidium of the PiS Political Committee has decided that associations operating within PiS must be dissolved within seven days. The barbecue organized by Mateusz Morawiecki is also to be cancelled,” he wrote on X.
Shortly afterward, following a meeting of the party leadership at PiS headquarters on Nowogrodzka Street in Warsaw, party spokesman Rafał Bochenek officially presented the decision. He explained that the resolution adopted by the Political Committee “introduces a ban on the activity and participation of Law and Justice members in associations, foundations, and other organizations of a political nature.” He added that the decision was taken “to preserve the ideological, organizational, and political unity” of the party.
Bochenek said the resolution stipulates that “members of Law and Justice should not participate in the work, meetings, events, or projects organized by such organizations, unless they operate with the approval of the party leadership.”
“Members of Law and Justice who belong to such organizations should immediately cease their activities within them and withdraw from those organizations within seven days,” he added.
The PiS spokesman clarified that the ban applies, among others, to Mateusz Morawiecki’s “Rozwój Plus” association and Jacek Sasin’s “Po pierwsze Polska” (Poland First) association.
“Today, a declaration will also be sent to all Law and Justice MPs and Members of the European Parliament, in which they will have to declare that they are not members of such organizations. They will have seven days, starting tomorrow, to submit the declaration,” he said.
Morawiecki announced the creation of the “Rozwój Plus” association on April 15. Its members include Michał Dworczyk, Marcin Horała, Paweł Jabłoński, Daniel Obajtek, and Ryszard Terlecki.
Jacek Sasin’s “Po pierwsze Polska” association was established on June 9. Its members include Elżbieta Witek, Tobiasz Bocheński, Patryk Jaki, Michał Moskal, and Marek Wesoły.
