“Sławomir Mentzen questioned the point of investing in the CPK. Of course, after public opinion decided that the CPK is a valuable programme, Sławomir Mentzen changed his mind,” Andrzej Śliwka recalled on Radio Plus. The Law and Justice MP suggested that such a “conversion” might also be possible regarding the Confederation leader’s attitude toward cooperating with PiS. “The enemy is not on the right!” Śliwka appealed to Mentzen and his party.
In the radio interview, MP Śliwka addressed the matter of the sale of a plot intended for the construction of the CPK to the vice-president of Dawtona. He said that yesterday he conducted a parliamentary inspection at the Ministry of Agriculture.
“I reviewed the complete set of documents – I hope it was the complete set that was made available to us – the correspondence between the CPK, KOWR, and the Ministry of Agriculture. I can honestly say this is a very outrageous situation, because the head of KOWR, director KOWR, Mr MP Smolarz, which is also a scandal, who earns thousands of zlotys there, did nothing on this matter for two years, and I’ll say more. He pretended to be someone who does not see a problem in this matter; he received formal reminders from the Central Communication Port and replied in such a brazen manner that it’s hardly worth talking about,”
Andrzej Śliwka emphasized.
Later in the conversation, the topic of possible political cooperation between the Confederation and Law and Justice was raised. At present, the main “brake” appears to be Confederation leader Sławomir Mentzen, who repeatedly attacks Jarosław Kaczyński. Is a change in his attitude possible?
According to Śliwka, yes – as demonstrated by Mentzen’s stance on the Central Communication Port.
“I am pleased by the conversion of Mr Sławomir Mentzen, because, as you remember, if you are an attentive observer of the political scene, Sławomir Mentzen questioned the point of that investment. Of course, after public opinion decided that the CPK is a valuable programme, Sławomir Mentzen changed his mind,”
Śliwka reminded, then suggesting that the same could happen here.
“Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński approaches Confederation politicians with an open heart,” he went on. He also appealed directly to Confederation politicians.
“I would like to truly appeal to my colleagues from the Confederation that the enemy is not on the right. If they really want change in Poland, if they want Poland to be a developing and secure country, I suggest they direct their attacks at the current governing coalition,”
Andrzej Śliwka said.
