Katarzyna Piter and Hungary’s Fanny Stollar captured their second consecutive title in Budapest by defeating the second-seeded duo of Anna Danilina and Irina Khromacheva 6-3, 3-6, 10-3 in the WTA tournament final. This victory marks Piter’s third career title in prestigious ATP tournaments (ranked 250 or higher). Last year, apart from their Budapest win, Piter and Stollar also triumphed in Palermo, with Piter teaming up with France’s Kristina Mladenović.
Impressive Winning Streak
Piter and Stollar’s synergy on the court has been undeniable, and their latest success in Budapest adds to their impressive streak. Earlier this year, the Polish-Hungarian pair also clinched the title in Valencia at the ATP 125 event, further cementing their position as a formidable duo in the doubles circuit.
In the singles competition, Russia’s Diana Shnaider will face Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich for the title. Sasnovich reached the final by overcoming Slovakia’s Anna Karolína Schmiedlová in a grueling semi-final, winning 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. Meanwhile, top-seeded Shnaider secured her spot in the final by defeating Germany’s Eva Lys with a solid 6-3, 6-3 performance.
