The Polish women’s beach soccer team has achieved a historic milestone by winning the 2024 Euro Beach Soccer League. In a stunning final performance, they defeated Portugal 5-1 to become the champions of Europe.
This victory comes in the fourth edition of the women’s Euro Beach Soccer League, which succeeded the Euro Beach Soccer Cup (2016-2019). The competition is structured with a regular season followed by a decisive superfinal. In the regular season, Poland finished second in their group after securing victories over Ukraine and England but falling to Portugal.
In the superfinal group stage, Poland once again placed second but faced tougher challenges, suffering losses to England in overtime and Spain. However, they managed a key win against Switzerland. In the semifinals, the Polish team delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Italy, the host nation, in Alghero, earning their place in the final.
The final match presented a chance for redemption, as Poland faced Portugal, the team that had previously defeated them. This time, Poland dominated, securing a decisive 5-1 win.
