Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg presented a report on Tuesday in Brussels which stated that Poland is among the seven member countries that have met the Alliance’s two-percent GDP defence spending goal.
According to the report, in 2022 Poland’s defence spending accounted for 2.42 per cent of its GDP.
The other six defence spending leaders are Greece (3.54 pct), the US (3.46 pct), Lithuania (2.47 pct), Great Britain (2.16 pct), Estonia (2.12 pct) and Latvia (2.07 pct).
In 2022, the US contributed 70% of Nato’s total defence spending, with Britain at 6%, Germany at 5%, France at 4%, Italy at 3%, Canada at 2%, and Spain, Holland, Turkey and Poland all at around 1%, according to the report.
