Poland Under Migration Pressure. Tarczyński Demands Border Barrier and Military Presence

Dominik Tarczyński, a Member of the European Parliament from the Law and Justice party (PiS), spoke strongly about migration and how to deal with it during an interview with Michał Rachoń. His diagnosis of the situation is stark but, he claims, based on hard data that Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s government appears to be hiding.

“I believe that even legal migration should be limited and strictly regulated. All illegal migrants – out!” Tarczyński stated during the “Political Talk” show, leaving no room for compromise.

Migration and Crime

Tarczyński presented data from the German Federal Police and Eurostat, which he claims clearly show that migrants in Europe are responsible for the majority of serious crimes such as murder, sexual assault, and robbery. He cited figures from Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.

“During the Law and Justice government, no Polish girl had her eyes gouged out with a screwdriver or a knife thrust into her heart (…), and we didn’t have hundreds of other cases like we do now. I don’t trust the Germans or this government,” said Tarczyński, pointing to what he described as a dramatic deterioration in Poland’s security since the current government took power, pursuing what he alleges are German interests.

Tarczyński: “We Must Respond Firmly”

In response to the increasing number of migrants being returned to Poland from Germany, Tarczyński called for the construction of a physical barrier on the border and for military deployment there. His aim is to prevent the practice of transferring migrants back into Poland. According to him, the threat from the western border is now as serious as that from the Belarusian one.

“It’s about physically preventing border crossings (…). A barrier in no way limits our treaty obligations, such as the free movement of goods and services,” he emphasized.

According to available data, by the end of June, there were 300 cases of illegal migrants being apprehended after previously staying in Poland. However, German authorities speak of several thousand, which Tarczyński interprets as evidence that “Polish services are lying and not telling the truth.”

“If Donald Tusk hadn’t agreed to this, they wouldn’t be here (…). A strong state should demonstrate strength. There should be a barrier, and there should be military presence at the border. We must respond firmly,” he urged.

“People from the Desert” and the Need for Deportation

Tarczyński made it clear that his stance on migration is tough, but he believes this is the last moment to act. He even announced he would be willing to resign from the European Parliament to return to Poland and deal with illegal migration in a future PiS government.

“Germany wants to get rid of a problem they themselves created. They are facing a social catastrophe and they know it (…). As a friend of mine put it, we are dealing with people from the desert, and they must not be let in. There should be a decision to launch a large-scale deportation campaign (…). I’m ready to take charge of it, even if it means resigning my seat in the European Parliament,” he concluded.

Legal Migration Also Under Scrutiny

The conversation also touched on labor migration, and Tarczyński left no illusions about his position.

“I believe that even legal migration should be limited and carried out strictly. All illegal migrants – out!” he repeated, adding that tough laws need to be introduced, including stricter checks on criminal records.

“When I invite someone into my home, I have the right to decide when that stay ends. And only the Polish state has the right to decide when and under what conditions such stays are terminated,” he added.
