The Polish National basketball team will face Portugal, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the group stage of the pre-qualification tournament for the Olympic Games. The event will take place in Gliwice Arena between August 13 and 20.
The top two teams from the group will advance to the final phase in Gliwice, where they will meet the teams from Group A, which will be played in Tallinn. The winner of the tournament will earn the right to compete in the 2024 Olympic Qualifiers.
The draw appears to have been favorable for Poland, as they are considered the favorites in Group B. However, they will face tougher opposition in the decisive phase of the eliminations, where they will likely compete against the Czech Republic and Israel.
These two teams are familiar foes from EuroBasket, where Poland defeated the Czechs 99-84 in Prague and also won against Israel 85-76. However, Israel has not been a favored opponent for Poland in recent years.
The Polish Basketball Association will soon announce the start of ticket sales for the event, which could feature Jeremy Sochan, a player who has expressed his desire to play for Poland. Under the leadership of coach Igor Milicic, the Polish team will be eager to prove themselves and secure a place in the Olympic Qualifiers.
