Poles deliver overwhelmingly negative verdict on Tusk government’s healthcare performance

The latest poll leaves no illusions for Donald Tusk’s government, a clear majority of Poles see no improvement in healthcare, and critical assessments are coming even from the coalition’s own voters. More than 82% of respondents in the United Surveys study gave the government a negative rating.

Pre-election assurances by Izabela Leszczyna, who served as Minister of Health in Donald Tusk’s government for 1.5 years, about a “magic wand,” the deepening budget deficit, cuts to procedure limits, and the closure of medical facilities, these actions by the current governing team were evaluated by Poles in the latest United Surveys poll conducted on behalf of Wirtualna Polska.

Collapse of healthcare. Poles assess the government

“Taking into account the time that has passed since the current governing coalition (Civic Coalition, Third Way, The Left) took power, have you noticed positive changes in the functioning of the Polish healthcare system?”

respondents were asked.

The conclusion is clear: the assessment of the healthcare system remains a serious problem for those in power.

In the survey, as many as 47.9% of respondents stated that they definitely do not see any positive effects of the current coalition’s actions in healthcare. A further 34.2% rated them rather negatively. This means that, in total, over 82% of respondents gave the government a critical evaluation.

Only a small group expressed a positive opinion; just 10.9% indicated that the situation in healthcare has improved.

Even its own electorate has doubts

The distribution of opinions among the government’s own voters looks particularly unfavorable. In this group, as many as 63% of respondents do not see positive changes, most of them describe the situation as “rather bad,” but a significant part also points to a definite lack of improvement.

At the same time, only one in five supporters of the governing coalition believes that healthcare has improved.

A crushing assessment among opposition voters

Voters of opposition parties assess the situation even more harshly. In this group, as many as 96% of respondents see no positive effects of the government’s actions in the healthcare system.

Similar results were recorded among supporters of Law and Justice, as well as circles associated with the Confederation and the Confederation of the Polish Crown. In both cases, strongly negative assessments dominate.

The United Surveys by IBRiS poll for Wirtualna Polska was conducted on March 27-29, 2026, using CATI & CAWI methods (a mix of computer-assisted telephone interviews and online surveys), on a representative sample of 1,000 adult Poles.
