“Christmas is approaching. For many families, however, it will be exceptionally costly. Everyday shopping increasingly strains household budgets. In many Polish homes, the Christmas Eve table and holiday gifts will be much more modest,” points out Law and Justice (PiS) in its latest spot published on social media.
The prices of food products needed to prepare traditional Christmas Eve dishes have risen significantly, which will directly affect household budgets.
A few days ago, we reported that ANG Responsible Finance conducted a study on Poles’ approach to holiday spending. It shows that as many as 69 percent of respondents plan to reduce holiday costs, doing so in a conscious and well-planned way.
The issue of holiday inflation was also highlighted by Law and Justice (PiS) in a spot published on social media.
Christmas is approaching. For many families, however, it will be exceptionally costly. Everyday shopping increasingly strains household budgets. In many Polish homes, the Christmas Eve table and holiday gifts will be much more modest, we hear in the recording.
The spot also recalled Tusk’s pre-election promise: “It will be cheaper in Polish stores and better in every Polish home.”
The reality is different. Poles can afford less and less. Because of prices, they are giving up many expenses. The state budget has been brought to disaster. Poles are asking one question today: Will the coming year bring any improvement? The answer is brutal. The poor state of the budget means price increases in every area of life, spending cuts, and halted investments. Everyone will feel the consequences, without exception, the narrator summarized.
PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński also commented on holiday inflation:
“Cheaper in stores? Fuel at the stations supposedly for 5.18 zł? It’s hard to believe that the Prime Minister of the Polish government doesn’t know how much Poles pay for shopping and fuel… Poles are not smiling. These will be expensive holidays,” wrote the politician.
