Mariusz Gosek spoke today with the director of the Warsaw-Służewiec detention center. He shared what he had learned about the condition of Dariusz Matecki, a PiS MP.
Dariusz Matecki, a member of the Law and Justice party (PiS), has been placed under arrest for two months. This was the decision announced by the Warsaw-Mokotów District Court.
The MP’s defense lawyer stated that they do not accept this decision, though he acknowledged a partial success: the prosecution had requested three months of detention, but the court decided on two.
Poles Gather Outside the Detention Center
For yet another day, Poles have gathered outside the Warsaw-Służewiec detention center in solidarity with Dariusz Matecki, who has been detained for two months.
Mariusz Gosek, a PiS MP, was also present and spoke with the director of the facility. He provided updates on Matecki’s conditions in custody.
The MP is reportedly being held in appropriate conditions and is receiving the necessary medication.
Gosek emphasized that Matecki’s arrest was purely political.
He also expressed gratitude to independent media, including Republika, stating their role is crucial.
“Darek has a television, so you can send him your greetings. He sees and hears everything and is very grateful for your support,” he said.
Political Context Behind the Arrest
“Dariusz built major online profiles that were damaging to Donald Tusk—by exposing and countering the propaganda of Tusk and Bodnar. None of this is a coincidence,” Gosek stated.
He also revealed that Matecki was recently about to engage in a large campaign related to illegal economic migrants crossing Poland’s borders, particularly on the western border.
“This is a man with an extraordinary reach—millions of people follow him across various social media platforms,” Gosek added.
Legal Action to Challenge the Arrest
“Our top priority is to ensure justice is served. I can also relay information from Matecki’s legal representative that an appeal against the Warsaw-Mokotów District Court’s decision to impose the harshest preventive measure will likely be filed tomorrow,” he concluded.
